Ensure that you have everything you need before you go out camping. It is very inconvenient to forget to bring essential items like your sleeping bag or tent. Have a checklist of the items you need before you leave something behind. An emergency kit is a very important component to have while camping. This kit should contain the basics, but should evolve as you change your camping locations. Always remember to bring a roll of duct tape with you when you go camping as it can be used for all manner of things. It is good for patching holes in tents, shoes, and inflatables. It is also good for securing tents and sealing up mosquito nets. Kids love camping, but you need to plan out activities for them to do on the trip. They could get bored if there isn’t anything to do. Are they used to pitching tents and fishing? Take along some things to entertain yourself and your family. Fishing poles, outdoor games and even a scavenger hunt list will make great entertainment in the woods. Even if you’re roughing it, you can better your camping experience by bring a small luxury. Your favorite candy bar or some prepackaged creamers for your morning coffee are light and simple to bring along. These items can make your trip as pleasurable as possible. While you think nature will provide enough wood for your fire to continue burning, it may be wet, which will not burn. To prevent this problem, bring along a few pieces of your own wood. Make sure to keep that wood dry in your car or another secure location.
